In this class you will continue to build on the knowledge acquired in Practical Spanish 1 or Spanish 1A. You will expand your vocabulary and continue to practice and add to your repertoire of useful expressions.

- Additional conversation/questions

- ordering food/ shopping/making a reservation/airport/train station; asking and talk about likes and dislikes; locating buildings or monuments
- Making polite requests
- Interrogative adjectives- Qué/Cómo/Cuándo/Dónde/Quién/Por qué
- Forming questions
- More ar/ir/er regular and irregular verbs
- Gustar/IOP
- Ask and tell time
- Possessive adjectives and different ways of showing possession (His book/John’s book)
- Weather
- Idiomatic expressions with Tener
- Contrast and apply the use of Ser/ Estar.
- Culture/Food/Holidays/Traditions
- All related vocabulary Prerequisite: Completion of Practical Spanish 1 or equivalent.

Facilitator

Marielle Courtois has been a teacher of both French and Spanish to students of all ages and proficiencies for over 25 years. She holds degrees in Tourism Management from the ITHQ in Montreal, a BA in French from Montclair State College and a Masters in Spanish Language and Culture at the University of Salamanca in Spain. An avid traveler, she is enthusiastic about sharing her love of languages and cultures.
