Beyond Beginner Mah Jongg

Pre-requisite: Beginner Mah Jongg or previous Mah Jongg experience

You learned the basics, what's next? In this class, we will go over Charleston strategies, how to pick a hand, when to expose or when to wait plus learn some skill building exercises you can do at home. Whether you’re looking to enhance your game or simply gain confidence, this is your chance to build on the skills that you learned in the Beginner class and get to the next level.

NOTE: Please bring your 2026 NMJL card to class; Mah Jongg sets will be provided.

IMPORTANT: Classes held at the MPL Bellevue Branch are NOT accessible. This building is not accessible. Use of stairs is required.

Elisa J. Hirsch, your FairyMahjMother, began teaching Mah Jongg as a way to connect with her friends without eating! As a community outreach professional, she quickly realized that meeting on a weekly basis is a great way to form friendships and build community. Now she is on a quest to help introduce a little more fun into everyone's lives.
