250th Birthday of the Declaration of Independence: Read-Aloud, Talk and Cake

Let's celebrate the 250th birthday of the Declaration of Independence! We'll enjoy a student read-aloud of the Declaration and a 45-minute talk by former history professor Steve Golin about the influence and meaning today of this iconic American proclamation. We'll wind up our celebration with, of course, cake! Co-presented by the League of Women Voters of the Montclair Area.

Facilitator

Steve Golin, historian, is the author of Women Who Invented the Sixties: Ella Baker, Jane Jacobs. Rachel Carson, and Betty Friedan, published in 2022, and two previous prize-winning books on New Jersey history. He taught for forty years at Bloomfield College and Kansas State University.
